Carly’s Story:

How The Faith Journey Began.

Some people remember a pivotal moment when they became a Christian. I think my faith journey has always been a sanctification process. I have always believed in God, but I truly became a “Christian” around 2007 when I accepted Christ into my heart.

As a kid, I always was fascinated by a children’s Bible that laid unread at the house, so I decided to check it out. However, at the time, I thought it was a nice fictional story from Adam and Eve eating an apple bringing sin to the world to David defeating Goliath with just a stone. I knew God was a miraculous God but I hadn’t stepped into the supernatural chapter of my life yet.

I started attending church regularly when I became a Christian in Houston, Texas. The first church that I felt comfortable with happened to be a Charismatic church where I felt right at home. I learned about healing, prophecy, and speaking in tongues. To someone who was a baby Christian, this was a great opportunity to get closer to God, but it also was a lot to take in all at once.

After this church, I graduated high school and went to college and attended a church in Austin, Texas. There I grew in the prophetic and in healing tremendously. I also learned that all gifts came from God, so I can’t call them my own by God’s. I have recently given prophetic words to my Twitter community and people in my personal live where they told me it resonated with them.

After college, I started my own Christian musing and poetry blog and Christian YouTube channel. I discovered so much from my faith journey that I had to share it with others. I am still learning a lot. I am far from perfect, but don’t we change “from glory to glory?” (2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV). I can happily attest this has been a part of my faith journey! I am also a teacher’s aide for high schoolers with learning differences. As well as working on self-publishing a Christian fiction story.
